One of Broward’s most beloved Caribbean brands is stepping up for home. In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica this week, Golden Krust has launched a nationwide relief effort in partnership with The American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ)... and all 11 Broward locations are in on the cause.
The restaurant group, known for its beef patties, jerk chicken and deep Jamaican roots, has turned its network of more than 100 U.S. stores into a channel for relief and recovery. Through year’s end, guests can donate at checkout, drop off non-perishables at participating locations or contribute online to a national fund aiming to raise $250,000.
Golden Krust has kickstarted the campaign with a $10,000 donation, with all proceeds directed to AFJ’s on-the-ground relief programs in Jamaica.
