Davie’s fitness scene is getting a major boost. YouFit Gyms is set to open a 20,359-square-foot facility in Davie at 8948 W. State Road 84 this winter, replacing its current, smaller location with a space designed for serious training and recovery.
The new gym will feature six Olympic lifting platforms, a cable tower, a dedicated turf zone for functional workouts and a group fitness room. Recovery options will include Hydromassage beds, RedZone saunas and Polar Wave dry plunge therapy - an homage to recovery becoming as important as the workout itself around South Florida.
“Davie represents an incredible opportunity to better serve the community with tremendous demand for accessible, high-quality fitness,” Josh Rider, president and COO of YouFit Gyms, tells Browardist. “We’re upgrading our presence by moving from our existing 12,000-square-foot facility to a brand-new 20,000-square-foot location that reflects where we’re taking the YouFit experience.”
Rider added, “We love the Broward community and operate several successful gyms throughout the area. These new locations demonstrate our commitment to providing even more... extensive group fitness classes, a huge turf area for functional training, expanded strength equipment, and a dedicated recovery lounge.”
The new Davie location is part of a broader South Florida expansion that includes a 26,000-square-foot flagship in Boynton Beach with two pickleball courts. Both sites will maintain YouFit’s focus on making premium facilities accessible, while adding amenities that appeal to everyone from casual gym-goers to heavy lifters.
For now, Davie residents can look forward to a winter opening (exact date TBD) and, perhaps, a gym that’s about to become the new fitness anchor of the west side.
