Paying nearly $4 for a gallon of gas is no one’s idea of a good time. Fortunately, 7-Eleven has extended a nationwide promotion that could make six upcoming fill-ups considerably cheaper.
Registered 7Rewards members can save 50 cents per gallon at eligible 7-Eleven fuel stations on the seventh and 11th of each month through Oct. 11. That means the discount is available Aug. 7 and 11, Sept. 7 and 11 and Oct. 7 and 11.
Activating the offer takes about 10 seconds: Text AGAIN to 711711 using the phone number connected to your registered 7Rewards account. Follow any instructions delivered by text, then enter that same phone number at the pump on an eligible date. The discount should be applied automatically.
Browardist research found approximately 80 7-Eleven locations across Broward County, though shoppers should confirm that their chosen store sells fuel and accepts the promotion before arriving.
The timing is certainly welcome. AAA reports that regular gasoline averaged approximately $3.98 per gallon in the Fort Lauderdale metro area on Aug. 7. A 50-cent discount would bring that figure closer to $3.48 per gallon, depending on the station’s posted price.
