As World Cup fever peaks across South Florida, one of the region’s biggest shopping destinations is getting in on the action.
Sawgrass Mills will host a free Adidas Fan Fest on Saturday, June 27, giving soccer fans a front-row seat to the excitement surrounding the highly anticipated Colombia vs. Portugal matchup at nearby Hard Rock Stadium. The game is widely considered one of the marquee contests of the tournament’s group stage, with resale tickets currently hovering around the $3,000 mark.
For those without a stadium seat, the Fan Fest offers another way to soak up the atmosphere... and all of the other games happening that day, too.
Taking place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Colonnade Court near Grand Lux Cafe, the all-day event will feature live match streaming from the adidas Newsstand, interactive soccer experiences, EA SPORTS gaming stations, family activities and giveaways. Fans can also score limited-edition printed posters available exclusively to adiClub members.
Visitors will also find a larger-than-life adidas Match Ball installation, creating one of the mall’s top photo opportunities during the tournament.
The Fan Fest is part of a broader World Cup-themed celebration running at Sawgrass Mills through July 19. Throughout the property, shoppers can check out a curated display of authentic jerseys worn by select national teams and snap photos with the Official Match Ball display near Adidas.
Several restaurants throughout the mall are also showing matches, including Yard House, Grand Lux Cafe, Villagio, Shake Shack and The Cheesecake Factory, making it easy to catch the action while grabbing a bite.
Of course, soccer fans looking to refresh their match-day wardrobe can browse stores including Adidas, Nike Factory Store, Puma, Fanatics by Lids, JD Sports, Foot Locker and several others carrying apparel and accessories inspired by the global game.
The adidas Fan Fest takes place Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Sawgrass Mills, located at 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd. in Sunrise. Admission is free.
