Shhh... it's a secret.

Fort Lauderdale’s supper club scene just got a little more secretive. Nearly a year after Sunness Supper Club made its debut on East Sunrise Boulevard, its long teased second act has officially opened upstairs, and it is worth the climb. Meet Bar Betty, a shadowy new speakeasy and lounge that feels like stepping into another era entirely.

Located above Sunness Supper Club at 2465 East Sunrise Boulevard, Bar Betty is open Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. Access comes via a hidden interior staircase or elevator tucked inside the restaurant. Once upstairs, the transformation is immediate. The entryway leans Far East with red lanterns, dramatic dragon wallpaper and a massive stone Buddha salvaged from the building’s former life as the beloved Jade Palace. Push through the red door and the vibe shifts again, channeling moody Great Gatsby with black walls, tin ceilings, Art Deco wallpaper and low lighting that makes everyone look just a little more mysterious.

The entertainment matches the atmosphere. Expect nightly programming ranging from Roaring 20s–style torch singers to a sultry Thursday night burlesque show. The cocktail list keeps pace, balancing classic execution with playful signatures.

Early dazzlers include the James and the Spicy Peach with Ghost tequila and Ancho Reyes, and the Fluffy Dream, a frothy gin-based stunner finished with apricot liqueur and elderflower. There are even thoughtfully crafted nonalcoholic options, including the guava-forward Black Betty.

Bar Betty is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight, with Sunness Supper Club serving dinner nightly downstairs starting at 5 p.m.
