A culinary inferno is heading to Fort Lauderdale and it’s bringing the heat... literally. On Sunday, December 7, Heritage Fire makes its Greater Fort Lauderdale debut at the reimagined Pier Sixty-Six, promising an afternoon of open-flame cooking, local flavor, smoky spectacle and the in-between.

Part of a nationally touring series from Miami-based event producers a21 (the same team behind the South Beach Wine & Food Festival), Heritage Fire is an all-inclusive tasting that celebrates fire-to-table craftsmanship. Consider the format is primal but elevated: chefs grill heritage-breed meats, heirloom veggies and thoughtfully-sourced ingredients over roaring live flames while guests wander, sip and chow down.

“Bringing Heritage Fire to Fort Lauderdale for the first time is exciting because of the city’s incredible culinary energy and sense of community,” Brett Friedman, CEO and Founder of a21, tells Browardist. Guests can expect a true celebration of that passion from our chefs and partners.”

Participating local chefs and restaurants include Diego Ng of Temple Street Eatery, Carlos Betancourth of Timpano, Michael Mayer of La Fuga, Timon Balloo of The Katherine and more. Miami’s December 14 stop will feature a who’s-who of the city’s culinary scene — think flame masters from local favorites like Eduardo Lara of The Wolf of Tacos and Jeff Bud of Apocalypse BBQ

Presented in partnership with Visit Lauderdale, the event, for general admission ticketholders ($99), runs 1 to 4:30 p.m. and includes unlimited bites, beverage pairings and the chance to vote for the “Best Bite of the Day.” VIP guests ($125) get in 45 minutes early, meaning first dibs on the flame-kissed goodness.

Tickets and details on all the fire-filled action are at heritagefiretour.com.
