Broward voters are checking “vote” off the to-do list by the six figures.

As of 8:06 a.m. Monday, October 26, 211,835 residents had voted early in person or returned a mail ballot. Registered Democrats accounted for 119,769 voters, or 56.5%; registered Republicans totaled 45,905, or 21.7%. Other or unaffiliated voters supplied the remaining 46,161, or 21.8%.

Here’s how the two voting methods stack up:

Early in person: Of 121,566 voters, 65,580 were Democrats (53.9%), 28,596 were Republicans (23.5%) and 27,390 were other or unaffiliated (22.5%).

Returned mail ballots: Of 90,269 voters, 54,189 were Democrats (60.0%), 17,309 were Republicans (19.2%) and 18,771 were other or unaffiliated (20.8%).

Those percentages describe the voters who have cast ballots through these methods so far. Registration doesn’t reveal which candidates they selected.

Meanwhile, 95,685 mail ballots issued to Broward voters remained unreturned. So, there’s still a sizable stack outstanding.

For national context, MIT’s How We Voted in 2024 report found that 37% of Democrats voted by mail, compared with 24% of Republicans. Across voters overall, 31% voted early in person, up from 26% in 2020. Getting voting done ahead of Election Day remains a popular calendar move.

Broward’s figures are a morning snapshot, with Florida’s county-by-county reports updated daily. Expect these totals to keep moving as additional voters show up and mail ballots come back.
