Prom night is about to get bloody on Las Olas. Room 901, the hotel room turned speakeasy inside Hyatt Centric Las Olas Fort Lauderdale, is planning a Carrie-inspired Halloween takeover in part to honor the film’s 50th anniversary.
As verified by Browardist, the first public experience is slated for Thursday, October 8. Behind Room 901’s hidden door, guests will find red and black décor, candlelight, dramatic florals and a soundtrack fit for a 1970s prom. The bartenders will dress for the occasion, too.
Order a Prom Punch or The Prom Queen, then make your case for a prom superlative, folks. Keep an eye on the bathroom: A blood-covered prom dress is set to hang there, in case the cocktail menu wasn’t enough of a clue about how this dance ends.
The takeover is also planned for all three nightly seatings Thursday through Saturday. Room 901 is at 100 E. Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Standard reservations apply; the venue currently lists seatings at 5, 7:15 and 9:30 p.m., with a $60 per person food and beverage minimum.
