Downtown Hollywood is about to get a full dose of merry and bright as the Christmas Village + Market returns this Saturday, December 6 from 4 to 9 p.m. at New Life Romanian Baptist Church (1950 Van Buren Street). The free, all-ages event has quietly become one of the most charming holiday happenings in Broward, drawing crowds with its festive mix of family fun, cultural flair and local shopping.
“We are a local church located in the heart of Hollywood and want to give back to the community with a night of fun for all ages,” event organizer Rebecca Ciurdar tells Browardist. Now in its fourth year, the market continues to grow while keeping its warm neighborhood feel.
Expect a lineup of local vendors with handmade goods, including Miros, Mermaid & Me, Lady Eleanor, Darling American, Covenant Calligraphy, Crotchet Place and Hair Tinsel. “Our vendors are all local and chosen because of their uniqueness,” adds Ciurdar. “All of their products are handmade and ready to be picked for your holiday shopping and gifting.”
Kids can enjoy a free petting zoo and pony rides while parents browse, mingle and grab traditional Romanian food fresh off the grill. “There isn’t quite another Christmas Village like ours in the area,” Ciurdar says. “We love seeing new and familiar faces every year and want to spread the real joy and reason of Christmas.”
Live music, Christmas tree raffles and small-town holiday vibes round out the night.
