Guys, get jazzed.

Hammer & Nails, the grooming destination where a haircut can come with a smoked old fashioned, is bringing its clippers, manicures and oversized leather chairs east.

Franchise owner Daniel Benhamu – who also owns the brand’s Davie outpost – expects to open his second Broward location in early October at 2051A E. Oakland Park Blvd

The expansion marks a homecoming within a homecoming for Benhamu. Born and raised in Davie, he left South Florida at 18, lived in New York for 12 years and spent two years in Los Angeles working in film. Following the pandemic and the writers’ and actors’ strikes, he returned home searching for a steadier industry.

An Instagram video about the earning potential of nail salons reminded him of a men’s grooming concept he had seen on “Shark Tank” roughly a decade earlier. He researched Hammer & Nails, drove to Orlando to sample its services and had his entrepreneurial epiphany while heading home.

“When I saw the sign on the Turnpike, ‘You are now entering Broward County,’ something came over me,” Benhamu told Browardist. “I’m like, ‘This is it. I have to make this happen.’”

He opened the Davie shop with major support from his father, who now serves as general contractor for the Oakland Park buildout.

Oakland Park was actually his preferred destination for location No. 1. His family briefly owned a condo nearby when he was young, and he sees a natural audience among the area’s business owners, doctors, lawyers and Wilton Manors neighbors.

Hammer & Nails offers haircuts, beard grooming, straight-razor shaves, color camouflage, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures under one roof. Stations include televisions and sinks, services include a wash and guests receive a complimentary beverage.

“You cannot go to any single other barbershop or nail salon and get all of the services that we provide under one roof,” Benhamu said. “Barbershops were meant to be what this is.”

The Oakland Park shop will feature a larger member lounge and shaded outdoor patio, where Benhamu plans to host monthly events. Its target clientele includes “HENRYs,” an acronym for high earners, not rich yet, along with any guy ready to take grooming and self-care seriously.

Before opening, the shop will host a preview celebration Sept. 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Guests can tour the space, sip natural wine, hear music and make their first service reservations. Founding memberships, available through October, include locked-in discounted rates and a complimentary upgraded service.
