A Fort Lauderdale favorite sports bar is trading touchdowns for tombstones this Halloween yet again. Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill will host its 11th Annual Halloween Bash on Friday, October 31, kicking off at 9 p.m. and going ‘til the witching hours, y’all.

The waterfront hotspot on NE 32nd Avenue is going all in for our favorite holiday, with DJ-spun monster mixes, creepy cocktails, raffles and, of course, its legendary costume contest. This year, the stakes (and fangs) are high to the tune of $5,000 in cash and prizes being up for grabs across six categories. The big winner takes home $1,500 cash, while other titles like fan favorite, sexiest, scariest, most original and best group will each score their share of the haunted haul through a mix of cash and gift cards.

“Bokamper’s is hosting its annual Halloween party for the first time on Halloween night,” Kevin Sheahan, General Manager of Bokamper’s, tells Browardist. “Last year, we had approximately 100 participants in the contest, and this year we are expecting more.”

To-date Sheahan says Bokamper’s has awarded more than $85,000 in total cash and prizes to costume contest winners. He adds, “our contest is open to everyone in costume. Dress in your most spooktacular outfit and be prepared to be judged. Our judges make it a fun evening for all. You may get scared, you will laugh, but you are guaranteed to have a blast.”

For more than 15 years, Bokamper’s has been a go-to for game days and good times, known for its high-energy atmosphere, endless TVs, Killer B wings and Bo’s Brew Pale Ale. Founded by former Miami Dolphins legend Kim Bokamper, the spot continues to live up to its tagline as “The Best Game in Town.”

Cover for the Halloween shindig is $10 and includes a free drink ticket. The bash is 21+ and costumes are strongly encouraged... or else you’ll risk being the only one not raising spirits.
