If your pickleball game has been missing one thing, it’s probably open water beneath your feet.
As of Friday, June 19, Pier Sixty-Six has officially launched Fort Lauderdale’s first floating pickleball court, bringing one of the country’s fastest-growing sports directly onto the resort’s marina. Created in partnership with Absolut Elyx, the new attraction is now open to locals, hotel guests and residents alike, offering a chance to rally while surrounded by yachts and sweeping waterfront views.
Located within the resort’s marina, the floating court is available daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and welcomes players of all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or trying the sport for the first time, the experience delivers a setting unlike anything else currently available in Broward County.
Reservations start at $75 per hour for two players or $100 per hour for four players. Need extra time? Additional 30-minute increments are available for $50, subject to availability. Players can reserve court time through the Resort Pool host stand.
A signed liability waiver is required before play. Guests ages 13 and older may participate without supervision, while children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The supervising adult does not need to play and may watch from the surrounding area.
As with any activity on the water, weather can affect operations. The court operates weather permitting and will close immediately if thunder or lightning develops. Guests who are unable to reschedule, or who have played fewer than 30 minutes when weather forces a closure, will receive a full refund.
After the match, players can head to a new Elyx Lounge situated at the Sotogrande Patio, where Absolut Elyx cocktails and signature bites provide an easy way to extend the outing.
Is this the city’s most unique court yet? Quite possibly, y’all.
