Are you an everyday person? (Yes, you are.) You can enter the boxing ring, too.

Haymakers for Hope is coming back to Miami Beach, giving everyday South Floridians the rare chance to lace up, train like a fighter and step into a real USA Boxing sanctioned ring to raise money for cancer research and care. The nonprofit’s second annual South Florida event hits The Fillmore on March 5, 2026, with an open call for new fighters now underway.
“We couldn't be more excited to bring Haymakers for Hope back to South Florida for a second year,” organization’s co-founder Andrew Myerson tells Browardist. “This once in a lifetime experience allows everyday people to fulfill a dream they may not have known they had, to participate in a real, sanctioned boxing match to help knock out cancer. If you want a powerful way to kick off the new year and do something truly transformative for yourself and a meaningful cause, this is the moment to jump in.”
The program is built for first timers, selecting participants with no boxing experience and pairing them with USA Boxing registered trainers for four months of disciplined, high intensity preparation.
Each fighter chooses the cancer organization they will raise money for, with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center serving as the primary beneficiary. The journey peaks at an electrifying gala where participants enter the ring in front of thousands and face opponents of similar age, size and skill level. Cancer survivors, known as Ring Card Warriors, hold up the round cards between each bout. It’s an incredible vibe.
Last year’s Miami debut raised more than $400,000, contributing to the organization’s more than $35 million in total fundraising since 2010. Applications are open, with tickets starting at $85 when they go on sale January 13.
