When people talk about IGNITE Broward, the conversation usually starts with glowing sculptures, projection mapping and Instagram-breaking visuals. But this year, the entertainment lineup is making just as much noise as the art itself. And that’s saying something.
The fifth edition of the free, countywide festival kicks off Friday, February 13 at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, with remarks from county leaders followed by a live performance from BREAKINMIA. Expect high-energy movement, hip-hop roots and a proper tone-setter for 10 days of light, sound and creative chaos.
From there, IGNITE Broward leans hard into performance-forward programming. One of the biggest draws is the UND’FTD World Finals on Saturday, February 14 at Delevoe Memorial Park in Fort Lauderdale, bringing elite breaking crews and serious global swagger into the mix. It’s a reminder that IGNITE is something that... ignites all the senses.
Then, on Saturday February 21 at ArtsPark at Young Circle in Hollywood. there’s a milestone moment: the first-ever concert in the festival’s history, featuring Spam Allstars with Dav & Julca. The Miami-bred collective’s genre-blurring sound - Latin, funk, hip-hop, jazz all bundled in one – feels tailor-made for a festival built on experimentation and collaboration. It will mark a new chapter for IGNITE Broward as a true multi-sensory experience.
All of this plays out alongside more than 25 immersive installations across four locations, including MAD Arts in Dania Beach, Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park, ArtsPark at Young Circle in Hollywood and even Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Translation: you can bounce between glowing art, interactive tech and live performances without spending a dime.
Some special events require registration, but the core festival remains free and open to all.
