Your dog has a favorite couch cushion. Your cat has claimed one specific windowsill as private property. Perhaps your parrot has a preferred patio chair. The question is: Are they centerfold material?
Abandoned Pet Rescue’s 2027 Calendar Photo Contest is officially open, inviting pets of all varieties to show off their happy places for this year’s theme, “Pets and Their Favorite Places.”
For a minimum $10 donation per photo, owners can submit a snapshot of their pet doing what they do best, wherever they love doing it. Every eligible photo submitted will appear somewhere in the printed 2027 calendar, while the 12 entries receiving the most votes will score the ultimate bragging rights: monthly cover spots.
There are a few rules. Photos can include a maximum of two pets and no humans. Owners can also reserve a specific calendar date — perhaps a birthday or adoption anniversary — for an additional $15. Calendar purchases are separate from photo submissions, and each calendar pre-order comes with five free votes.
The deadline to submit and vote is Friday, July 31, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Beyond giving Broward’s pets their shot at calendar fame, the contest supports the 200-plus cats and dogs in the care of Fort Lauderdale’s no-kill Abandoned Pet Rescue. Funds help provide food, shelter, medical care and plenty of love while animals await forever homes.
So, dig through that camera roll. Your pet’s favorite nap spot could be headed for print.
