Travel has long promised relaxation, but a new locally-bred venture is betting your next getaway can also help support long-term health. BLU Journeys, the newest offering from the minds behind BLU by ThriveWell, has unveiled its first collection of physician-guided longevity travel experiences, blending active exploration with evidence-based wellness in destinations spanning Costa Rica, Portugal, Colorado, Vermont and Iceland.
The experiences were created by Dr. Gordon Chen and Dr. Jessica Chen, the husband-and-wife physicians behind BLU by ThriveWell, alongside veteran travel expert Carmen Curro. Together, they've designed itineraries that weave movement, nutrition, mindfulness, recovery and community into immersive vacations guided by medical expertise and concierge-style travel planning.
One of the standout offerings heads to Iceland for six days of winter adventure beneath the Aurora Borealis. Travelers can expect to explore the Golden Circle, soak in geothermal lagoons, wander Reykjavík, hike across glaciers, discover blue ice caves, visit Diamond Beach and venture through volcanic landscapes before retreating to boutique accommodations, including Reykjavík Konsulat Hotel and Hotel Rangá in South Iceland.
Each itinerary is built around BLU Journeys' five pillars of health and wellness: personal purpose, community, physical activity, nutrition and mindfulness. Guided hikes, kayaking, yoga, plant-forward meals, meditation, gratitude practices and meaningful group experiences are incorporated throughout every destination with the goal of helping guests bring healthy routines home after returning from their travels.
The launch also shines a spotlight on BLU by ThriveWell's Fort Lauderdale headquarters, where visitors can continue their wellness journey through advanced diagnostics, personalized longevity medicine, proactive healthcare and customized wellness planning. The clinic focuses on helping patients optimize their healthspan through preventive, evidence-based care rather than waiting for illness to develop.
Editorial disclosure: BLU by ThriveWell is a Beacon of Browardist.
