Motek is coming, people.
Happy Corner Hospitality has announced plans to open Motek By The Sea at the W Fort Lauderdale, marking the beloved Mediterranean restaurant's first Broward County location. The new restaurant will take over the former El Vez space on Fort Lauderdale Beach and, in details shared with Browardist, is slated to open in November 2026.
The forthcoming restaurant represents a major milestone for the Miami-born brand, which has grown into one of South Florida's most recognizable dining concepts. When Motek By The Sea debuts, it will become the company's 10th location across the region.
“We're honored that Blackstone and Marriott invited us to bring Motek to the W Fort Lauderdale,” said Charlie Levy, founder of Happy Corner Hospitality. “This is a meaningful step for us, a chance to share our food and our hospitality with a new community in a truly remarkable setting. With its oceanfront location and unmatched views, Motek by the Sea represents everything we strive for: warmth, quality, and an experience worth returning to. We're proud to be part of Fort Lauderdale's future and we can't wait to open our doors.”
Located inside the W Fort Lauderdale, the new concept will occupy approximately 12,000 square feet and feature seating for 315 guests across indoor and outdoor dining areas. The prime beachfront location offers sweeping ocean views and places Motek in one of the city's most visible restaurant destinations.
Motek has built a loyal following with its Mediterranean-inspired menu, drawing influence from Eastern Mediterranean cuisine with a lineup that includes shawarma, kebabs, hummus, falafel and all-day brunch favorites. Its arrival adds another noteworthy restaurant name to Fort Lauderdale's dining scene.
