South Florida travelers looking for a quick international getaway with a side of celebrity nightlife might want to keep an eye on the Bahamas this summer. Atlantis Paradise Island is teeing up two major performances at its famed Aura Nightclub, and both are an easy hop from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport.
First up, Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly will headline a Memorial Day Weekend performance on Saturday, May 23. The “Hot in Herre” and “Country Grammar” hitmaker is set to take over Aura Nightclub from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for an 18-plus event expected to draw visitors from across South Florida and the Caribbean.
Later in the summer, internationally known DJ and producer Steve Aoki returns to Atlantis on Friday, July 10. Known for explosive live sets, cake tossing and sold-out shows around the world, Aoki’s return follows previous packed performances at the resort during New Year’s Eve festivities. His show will also run from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guests ages 18 and older.
Aura Nightclub, Atlantis’ 9,000-square-foot nightlife venue, has become one of the Caribbean’s marquee party destinations thanks to its massive sound system, VIP tables and steady lineup of globally recognized artists. As of press time, admission for both shows starts at $110 per event.
