Mango heaven is a quick flight away.

If your summer travel calendar needs a quick-hit Caribbean detour, Nevis is calling. And it’s bringing 40-plus varieties of mangoes with it. The 12th annual Nevis Mango Festival returns July 2-5, 2026, turning the island into a four-day showcase of fruit-fueled dishes, beachside parties, and chef-driven experiences.

Getting there is refreshingly simple: flights from Fort Lauderdale or Miami to nearby St. Kitts typically clock in around 2.5 to 3 hours, followed by a quick water taxi to Nevis. Translation: you can be sipping a mango cocktail by early afternoon.

Dubbed the Caribbean’s Mango Capital, Nevis grows 40+ varieties—so prized they’re rarely exported. The only way to taste them is on-island, and this festival is the ultimate excuse. Headlining the lineup is Eric Adjepong, the Food Network star and Top Chef finalist leading cooking demos, judging competitions, and hosting an intimate Supper Club dinner at Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

Signature events include the opening celebration at Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, Mango Mania with mixology battles, a Pinney’s Beach bar crawl, chef-led masterclasses, and the grand finale, “For the Love of Mangoes,” featuring tastings, live music, and a cooking showdown. Ticketed experiences vary by event, with select packages and tours available online.

For South Floridians, this is a short-haul getaway with flavor payoff. Plan accordingly and, of course, bring your appetite.
