Dads, this one's for you.

South Florida has no shortage of mommy-and-me meetups. Now, dads have one of their own.

Paradise Dad Club launches its first-ever meetup on Sunday, June 28, inviting fathers and their kids to gather for a laid-back morning at Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale. Created by local entrepreneur and dad Bobby Velez, the free event aims to build a community where fathers, whether they're navigating newborn sleepless nights or chasing elementary schoolers across the playground, can connect with one another while spending quality time with their children.

Velez tells Browardist that the kickoff runs from 10 a.m. to noon, with families meeting at The Grill at the Grove inside the park before heading out for a stroller-friendly walk through Birch State Park and along the beach. Expect music from a DJ, breakfast and brunch options available for purchase, healthy drinks, games and plenty of opportunities for kids to play together. Parking at the park is $6 per vehicle.

Velez hopes this becomes a monthly tradition, with additional meetups to ideally be planned for the last Sunday of each month throughout the summer. As the community grows, future gatherings may expand with additional family-focused programming.

The Paradise Dad Club also ties into another family-centered project Velez has in the works for Fort Lauderdale. Browardist will share the full story on that soon.
