For those who like their cocktails with a side of chills, Room 901’s Nightmare on Las Olas is serving spooky season straight up through November 2.

The beloved hidden speakeasy – tucked behind a hotel-room door inside the Hyatt Centric Las Olas – has been fully transformed into a 1920s-style haunt that’s equal dashes of eerie and elegant. Think cobwebbed corners, flickering candles, haunted portraits that seem to watch your every move, ouija boards and tarot decks laid out for the daring.

Guests enter this ghostly getaway by reservation only for a timed two-hour experience. Upon entry, you can dive into a haunted cocktail lineup that’s as creative as it is creepy. Among the seasonal sips, the Blair Witch Hunt glows with Midori, triple sec and a puff of dry ice; the Chainsaw Massacre mixes Hendrick’s Gin and Chambord for something both floral and fierce; and the Sixth Sense channels espresso martini vibes with vodka, Baileys, espresso and pumpkin spice puree. Each drink runs in the $15-plus range - fitting for spirits this spirited.

“From the very beginning, Room 901 was designed to transport guests back to the mystery of the 1920s within the walls of the contemporary hotel in downtown Las Olas,” Katherine Beja McLennan, area director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Centric Las Olas, tells Browardist. “This season, there is no better place to embrace the spirit of this mystery and excitement than in our intimate, hidden speakeasy where every detail feels both timeless with a hint of thrill. The allure of the space, paired with spooky and delicious cocktails makes it the perfect place to celebrate Halloween.”

And while the cocktails might take center stage this time of year, the food menu remains frightfully good. The wagyu beef katsu sando on Japanese milk bread and the Mediterranean spiced lamb lollipops are worth a visit all on their own, while the truffle mac and cheese and kaluga caviar service make it clear this haunt has taste well beyond October.

Costumes are encouraged, reservations are essential, and a little courage is recommended... because Freddy Krueger has apparently checked in for the season, y’all.
