If your idea of a perfect Saturday involves coffee, comfy sneakers and the thrill of the hunt, Saturday, January 10 is calling. Two major, city-sponsored yard sales are happening the same morning in Wilton Manors and Oakland Park, just a seven-minute drive apart. Translation: double the deals with minimal windshield time.
Wilton Manors hosts its Island City Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall and Hagen Park along Wilton Drive. Expect a lively, community-forward scene with residents selling a wide mix of household items, décor, clothing and unexpected gems. The event is a regular favorite for locals, and it tends to draw a steady crowd of early birds looking to score before noon.
Meanwhile, Oakland Park’s City-Wide Yard Sale runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jaco Pastorius Park. This one brings together dozens of vendors offering everything from vintage finds and collectibles to books, accessories, electronics and handmade items. It’s organized, bustling and ideal for anyone who prefers their bargain hunting with lots of options in one place.
Both events are free to attend with free parking nearby. Both cities are also notably walkable, so once the bags are full, it’s easy to wander their quaint downtown areas for brunch, coffee or a casual stroll.
