Now this is a fun way to communicate.

Your next love note, pep talk or questionable life tip could arrive in... a recycled wine bottle. Oakland Park’s Rebel Wine Bar has a delightfully cheeky delivery system and it costs five buckaroos.

The Message in a Bottle program at 3520 NE 12th Ave. basically turns a digital order into an actual keepsake. Submit a personal message of up to 500 characters online, sign it or send it anonymously, and Rebel’s team prints the note, rolls it up and slips it into a black recycled bottle.

From there, allow at least two business days for preparation and choose a pickup date. The recipient gets an email when the bottle is ready, then collects it at the bar by giving their name. No app required. And planning a date night? You can add an optional reservation date and time to have the bottle waiting at your table.

Writer’s block has a solution, too. You can choose a surprise message from four themed collections: Love Notes, Breakup Survival Kit, Wine Wisdom or Terrible Advice. You can even order a mystery note for yourself. The bottle goes home with whoever receives it.

Rebel, which celebrated its fifth anniversary October 3, also supplies plenty of reasons to stay for a pour, including wine flights, cheese, tapas and daily happy hour. Specials run all day Monday through Wednesday and until 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, including $6 select wines, $4 beers and $10 wine flights. Sundays bring all-day deals, including $2 mimosas or sangria with a food purchase.
