Saiko-i Sushi Lounge & Hibachi just went supersized in Plantation, and Broward’s dining scene officially has a new high-energy hotspot to obsess over. The modern Japanese concept - already beloved in Boca Raton and Parkland - has opened its largest location yet at the Shoppes at Broward (8160 W. Broward Blvd.). It brings teppanyaki theatrics, creative sushi and a sleek, social vibe tailor-made for celebrations.

“Plantation made perfect sense for our next location,” owner Tina Wang tells Browardist. “The neighborhood is growing, the guests are curious and engaged, and the space itself allowed us to expand Saiko-i in ways we’d been dreaming about. Because this is our largest restaurant, we were able to introduce a lineup of dishes exclusive to Plantation, elevate the hibachi setup and create a layout that encourages celebration. It has its own personality, connected to Boca and Parkland, but very much its own experience.”

At Saiko-i Plantation, hibachi chefs turn dinner into a show with flaming grills, knife tricks, jokes and a whole sizzling spectacle. The sushi bar anchors the interior with precision-driven sashimi, playful specialty rolls and several Plantation-only standouts like the Sunrise Roll with King salmon and spicy toro, the decadent Foie Gras Tower or the Kobe-topped Fantastic Roll. Hot appetizers, grilled entrées, donburi bowls and tempura favorites round out a menu deep enough for date nights, group hangs or full-blown birthday shenanigans.

Deals are plentiful, too: weekday lunch specials starting at $15.95, a bottomless weekend brunch with $18 mimosas, daily happy hour from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (plus a late-night bar-only version), family-friendly weekly promos, and Wine Down Wednesdays with 30 percent off bottles.

Factor in a covered patio, bold design touches and a menu accommodating everything from gluten-free soy sauce to cucumber-wrapped rolls, and the new Saiko-i is shaping up to be Plantation’s next go-to dining utopia.
