A new Friday ritual, anyone?

Fort Lauderdale’s newest Friday night excuse to avoid going straight home post-work has officially floated into town. Starting Friday, May 29, waterfront staple Shooters Waterfront and Water Taxi are teaming up for the debut of the Sunset Music Cruise, a weekly evening ride through the Venice of America complete with cocktails, live music and skyline views.
The experience begins at 5 p.m. inside a dedicated Shooters Waterfront VIP section, where cruise guests can ease into the night with extended happy hour specials. The specials include half-off well drinks, wine by the glass and beer alongside dockside staples like tuna tacos, smoked fish dip, coconut shrimp and crispy calamari while live music rolls across the patio.
At 7 p.m., guests board at Stop F10/P1 behind Shooters for a sunset cruise through Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal waterways. Included in the $49 ticket is a complimentary toast during the ride and front-row views of the city as daylight fades in an always colorful and unique fashion.
The ticket also includes a $10-off coupon for Shooters Waterfront, turning the post-cruise return into a built-in final stop for cocktails, bites and/or waterfront views after docking back at the restaurant.
The weekly cruise is limited to 100 guests per sailing, giving it more of a laid-back yacht-party vibe than a packed booze-a-thon cruise. Guests may valet at Shooters or use nearby paid parking across the street.
