Hollywood Beach has a new headliner and it  threw a party to prove it. The newly minted Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort officially debuted Friday, May 1, ushering in a fresh chapter for one of South Florida’s most recognizable oceanfront properties. The night closed with a DJ set from Paris Hilton, who very much morphed the start of Miami Grand Prix weekend into a beachfront dance floor.

Originally opened in 1958, the Diplomat has long been a backdrop for everything from political gatherings to splashy conventions. Now, following Trinity Investments’ $80 million overhaul, the 1,000-room resort reemerges under Hilton’s Signia flag with a sharper focus on design, dining and large-scale experiences.

The transformation starts in the reimagined lobby, now a lush, light-filled social hub built for mingling, working and lingering over cocktails. For opening night and to celebrate Race Week, there was a McLaren F1 car parked front-and-center. Outside, The Verandah anchors the property’s new outdoor lifestyle, featuring the Solara Infinity Pool, a refreshed lagoon pool and an adults-only Verandah Social Club complete with cabanas, oceanfront views and daycation access for locals.

Dining has also stepped up in a big way. Six revamped concepts—including Diplomat Prime steakhouse, Playa’s beachfront Latin fare and the café-style The Press—aim to keep guests circulating from sunrise breakfasts through late-night noshing. Upstairs, Club Signia introduces a members-club feel with sweeping views, curated food presentations and personalized service for premium guests.

The numbers impress: more than 200,000 square feet of event space, a 50,000-square-foot Great Hall and 1,000 linear feet of beach. Add in the Diplomat Spa, daily programming and a location between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and the resort continues to play a central role in South Florida’s hospitality scene, now with even more pizzazz.
