The 954 is officially on Smorgasburg’s radar. After wrapping a long and buzzy chapter in Wynwood, the largest open air food festival in America has announced it is coming north, teasing its arrival on Instagram and opening applications for its 2026 Fort Lauderdale season.
In a December 12 Instagram post, organizers confirmed the move as part of a broader evolution into Smorgasburg South Florida, signaling a deeper commitment to the region after years of Miami crowds, cult favorite vendors and themed festivals tied to Art Basel, Halloween and beyond. While specific details on the Fort Lauderdale location and opening timeline have not yet been announced, the call for vendor applications is the clearest sign yet that Broward is next.
“Fort Lauderdale is buzzing with new and exciting food and a wave of hospitality that is reshaping the city,” the Smorgasburg team shared on Instagram, adding that they are eager to help that momentum continue while also exploring a future second location back in Miami.
Before the Broward debut, Smorgasburg is closing out the year with one last South Florida pop up. On Saturday, December 20, the Smorgasburg Little River Night Market in Miami takes over 7200 NW 2nd Ave from 4 to 11 p.m. The free event will feature more than 20 street food vendors, vintage finds, vinyl, hi-fi beats and flash tattoos, in partnership with Mids Market and Reserved.
Launched in Brooklyn in 2011 as a spinoff of Brooklyn Flea, Smorgasburg has grown into a national and international food phenomenon, with markets in New York, Los Angeles, Jersey City and global pop ups. The New York Times famously dubbed it “the Woodstock of Eating.”
