Fort Lauderdale’s foodie scene is about to sizzle like never before. Starting Saturday, April 11, Smorgasburg South Florida officially opens its new weekly home at 505 NE 2nd Street in Flagler Village, bringing what’s widely considered the largest outdoor food market in America straight into the heart of Broward. It was previously in the heart of Wynwood in Miami.

And if you’ve been to its Miami outpost, you already know the deal: big crowds, bigger flavors and a rotating lineup of vendors that reads like an honor roll of South Florida’s culinary underground. Now, Fort Lauderdale gets its own version, with nearly 50 vendors spanning food, desserts, drinks and retail, and more than 15 brand-new concepts debuting locally.

The market will run every Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m., transforming Flagler Village into an open-air playground of global street food and community flair. Think less farmers market, more “come hungry and stay all day.”

“Fort Lauderdale has incredible energy,” CEO and owner Gaston Becherano tells Browardist. “It’s a city that loves food, community and outdoor culture, and we’ve been wanting to bring Smorgasburg here for a long time. We couldn’t be more excited to build something truly special for this community and our vendors share that excitement with over 15 new concepts paving the way at our new Smorgasburg Fort Lauderdale home.”

The opening lineup blends returning fan favorites from Smorgasburg Miami with a fresh wave of newcomers. On the returning side, expect heavy hitters like Kabuki Soba with yakitori and noodles, Birreria Tijuana’s rich quesabirria, Korn Korner’s loaded street corn creations and The Lazy Oyster’s traveling raw bar. Boca Burger, Santo Dulce and Blazed BBQ also make the jump north, bringing smashburgers, churro-fueled desserts and smoky meats into the mix.

Then come the new additions, and this is where things get especially interesting. Riddim & Bao blends Jamaican and Asian flavors into one craveable concept, TropiRollz flips sushi with a Caribbean twist and TANGTANG delivers glossy, candy-coated fruit skewers that are basically made for Instagram. You’ll also find Seoul Hotteok serving warm Korean sweet pancakes, Gangnam Sticks focusing on Korean street skewers and El Nopalito Vegan Taqueria reworking Mexican classics with plant-based ingredients.

Beyond the main food vendors, the dessert and drink lineup is stacked, from açaí bowls and boba to oversized cookies and specialty coffee, while a curated retail section adds everything from handmade ceramics to vintage apparel and even romance novels. The overall vibe leans into what Smorgasburg does best: a curated world of flavors, cultures and creativity, all set outdoors with a strong sense of community.
