Mahjong continues to have a moment across South Florida, and now Fort Lauderdale players have a new waterfront spot to gather, play and sip martinis while they do it.
Shooters Waterfront is launching Martini & Mahjong Mondays, a new bi-weekly series created in partnership with Besties & Bams Mahjong Club. The series debuts Monday, June 22, with additional dates already scheduled for July 6 and July 20.
The kickoff event focuses on open play, giving experienced players the chance to settle in for an evening of tiles, cocktails and friendly competition along the Intracoastal. Check-in begins at 6 p.m., and every guest receives a complimentary welcome cocktail upon arrival.
Open play tickets are $50 and include a reserved mahjong seat, welcome cocktail and access to the evening’s games. Beginning in July, attendees can also opt for Mahjong 101, Mahjong 102 and refresher lessons. Lesson tickets are $90 and include instruction, a welcome cocktail and a food item.
Beyond the game itself, Shooters is introducing a mahjong-inspired food and beverage menu featuring specialty cocktails, including a Martini Flight, along with prizes throughout the evening.
The mahjong series arrives alongside another new weekly activation at the waterfront restaurant. Through Labor Day, Shooters is partnering with Hampton Water Rosé for Pink Cabana Club every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The activation transforms part of the property into a pink-hued waterfront escape complete with cabana-style seating, rosé tastings, themed décor and a festive atmosphere overlooking the Intracoastal.
