Baklava pancakes, anyone?

There’s a new weekend move in South Florida, and it starts with pita, pancakes and a pour-your-own spritz. Sufrat Mediterranean Grill has officially rolled out brunch across all three of its locations, including Pembroke Pines (10430 Pines Blvd.), inviting guests to gather around the table Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The family-owned concept, founded by the Altillawi brothers, has built its reputation on bold Mediterranean flavors and a lively dining room. Now, that same spirit carries into daytime with a menu designed for passing plates and stretching out a late morning hang. “Brunch has always been about connection and celebration,” co-owner Tamer Altillawi tells Browardist. “We want every meal here to feel like a feast, full of warmth, tradition and fun.”
The lineup leans into both savory staples and sweet standouts. The Sufrat Village Brunch Tray arrives loaded with makdous, labneh, olives and warm pita for dipping, while Levantine shakshouka and sujuk egg scrambles bring the comfort factor. On the indulgent side, baklava pancakes layered with pistachios, walnuts and honey syrup are already drawing attention, alongside pistachio brioche French toast.
A playful twist comes in the form of a build-your-own spritz bar, where guests mix aperitifs like Aperol or Campari with bubbles for a custom brunch cocktail. Pair that with house-made mint lemonade or Turkish coffee, and you’ve got a table that’s not in a rush to leave.
With locations in Pembroke Pines, Doral (8455 NW 53rd Street) and Miami Beach (1570 Alton Road), Sufrat’s brunch aims to turn a casual weekend meal into something a little more communal. And, clearly, a lot more flavorful, too.
