Tucked quietly in a Pembroke Pines strip mall, Leafy is the kind of spot you’d never expect to stumble upon, which is exactly why it feels so special once you do. From the outside, it’s unsuspecting – big ole red letters with LEAFY LOUNGE & KARAOKE. Step inside, though, and you’re transported into a cozy, greenery-filled hideaway that blends Vietnamese comfort food, over-the-top drinks and a full-on private karaoke experience.
The decor leans lush and playful, with pops of greenery and a laid-back lounge vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a while. The food menu punches well above its weight for a casual spot, with most dishes landing at $20 or less. Standouts include deep-fried meatballs, pork belly sandwiches, crab meatball-loaded udon soup and steaming bowls of pho. Save room for dessert because the coffee flan is a must.
Drinks here are part of the spectacle. Milk tea, Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee arrive massive and indulgent, and yes, you can top them with an adorable oversized gummy bear that feels made for your camera roll. You can get all the drinks to-go, too, for an afternoon coffee fix.
Feeling bold? You can rent the private karaoke room and live your pop star fantasy. It’s $65 per hour for up to five people, plus $10 for each additional guest, making it a surprisingly affordable group hang. Leafy is closed Tuesdays. It’s open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m.
