We have a date for one of this fall’s buzziest openings. Tonno Nero officially opens Friday, November 20, and Browardist has the scoop on what chef Joe Anthony will be sending out of the kitchen.

We previously introduced you to the South Florida native’s plans for 510 N. Federal Highway. Now, the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant’s opening lineup gives us plenty to chew on, starting with grass-fed bison tartare with Calabrian chile hot sauce and house country bread.

Then there’s Osetra caviar served with crème fraîche panna cotta and house brioche. Your usual chips-and-dip order... could never.

Other starters include daily oysters and semolina-fried rock shrimp with salsa rosa and caper leaves. House-made breads and pastas get their own spotlight through a daily rotating flatbread “pizza” and squid ink orecchiette. For the main event, look for bay leaf-poached flounder with celery root “duxelles” and champagne sauce, plus picana steak for two with roasted red peppers and romesco.

Anthony’s résumé includes Daniel, Union Square Cafe, The Modern and work alongside chef Gabriel Kreuther. Based on the opening menu, seasonal ingredients and local producers will help steer a menu built to change with what’s fresh.

Behind the bar, lead bartender Rosy Vilanova’s lineup includes the Fitzgerald, combining gin, lemon, sugar and Angostura bitters, and the Cadillac, with tequila, cranberry and dry Curaçao. Sommelier and manager Nicolas Rouet oversees the wine selection.

Also on our radar... Social Hour, Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with five wines, five cocktails and five bites.

Reservations are now open. Dinner runs Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5 to 11 p.m.
