Flamingo Flea is pulling off a doubleheader this weekend with two markets in two different Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods on back-to-back days. One Flamingo Flea is great. Two in one weekend? Bliss.
Founded in 2019 by Fort Lauderdale native Carley Sumner, Flamingo Flea has grown from a small local pop-up into a South Florida staple spanning 15 venues and more than 1,500 vendors over the years.
“It’s going to be a busy weekend for the Flamingo Flea with pop ups on Fort Lauderdale Beach and Tarpon River, back-to-back,” Sumner tells Browardist. “It’s always exciting to see locals make it a point to stop by the markets. It feels like we are in a small town when we see familiar faces and people bike from the neighborhoods. Either market is a great way to spend the weekend outdoors with local shopping, music, a great bite to eat and a tasty drink.”
The weekend kicks off Saturday, January 24 from 11 am to 3 pm with a Beachside Flamingo Flea at Marina Village. Expect 25 local vendors and businesses plus all day festivities tied to Marina Village’s one-year anniversary, including DJs, specialty drinks, exclusive merch and photo-worthy moments throughout the property. Pro tip for early birds: the first 150 guests who check in at The Shorely hostess stand will score a complimentary cocktail.
On Sunday, January 25 from noon to 4 pm, Flamingo Flea heads inland to Tarpon River Brewing. More than 35 handcrafted vendors will take over the brewery inside and out with vintage clothing, home decor, custom jewelry, watches, local art, baked goods, books and accessories. Add craft beer, brunch, live music and adoptable dogs from Good Karma Pet Rescue and it’s a classic Flamingo Flea Sunday Funday.
Both markets are free to attend. For full details and info visit flamingoflea.com.
