That dinner reservation comes with a celebratory cocktail and some cake, too.

Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse is officially entering its sophomore year. And it’s throwing a Thursday night party with plenty of reasons to either make a reservation or pop by.

On Thursday, June 4 from 4 to 9 p.m., the riverfront restaurant will celebrate its one-year anniversary with DJ entertainment, House of Suntory samples and a few giveaways for early arrivals. The first 50 guests through the doors will score a special goodie bag, while diners with reservations will receive a complimentary Japanese inspired drink cocktail (one per guest) and a slice of Chef’s Coconut Cake (one per table).

Since opening in Downtown Fort Lauderdale last year, Ukiah has quickly become one of the city’s buzziest dining rooms, thanks to its mash-up of Japanese flavors, wood-fired cooking and waterfront-adjacent location.

Dishes like the pastrami short rib, robata-grilled skewers and smoked cocktails helped the spot earn rave reviews — including one from yours truly (Browardist editor Jesse Scott) in a review inked for Miami New Times.

Reservations for the anniversary happenings are recommended.
