Oakland Park’s main drag has lost another business.

Voodoo Brewing Co. has closed its location at 3492 NE 12th Ave., less than a year after making its debut. During a recent site visit, Browardist found signs on the front door advertising the space as available. A call to the listed number confirmed that the commercial property is seeking a new tenant.

The brewpub celebrated its grand opening on April 12, 2025, bringing burgers, wings, tacos and plenty of beer to the city’s downtown corridor. Its run lasted approximately 16 months.

And that is not the only closure on the block.

Browardist can also confirm that neighboring Art Fusion Galleries is closing. The gallery’s exterior signage has already been removed, creating two adjacent vacancies along a stretch dotted with restaurants, bars, shops and creative businesses.

The closings add to other visible vacancies along NE 12th Avenue. A few doors south, the former Cyth & Co. and Switchbox Coffee Roasters building at 3446 NE 12th Ave. remains vacant.

As Browardist reported in February, documents posted outside that property referenced plans for JellyBean’s Funhouse Record Store, a retail concept with coffee, kava and juice bars reportedly connected to producer and DJ John “Jellybean” Benitez.

Browardist has received no update from Benitez to date, and no visible construction progress has emerged at the address.
