W Fort Lauderdale is a staycation winner.

There’s something oddly satisfying about checking into a Fort Lauderdale hotel that actually makes you want to peruse and... peruse some more. After a recent staycation at W Fort Lauderdale, that feeling hit almost immediately.

Earlier this year, the hotel unveiled refreshed versions of its signature WET Deck and Living Room, two spaces that have quietly helped evolve the social side of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The updates, led by award-winning firm Tihany Design, bring sharper coastal flair and a polished atmosphere without losing that playful personality that made both spots hidden favs in the first place.

The Living Room may quietly be one of the most underrated hangout spots in Broward. It’s part lounge, part cocktail den and part sports-viewing hideaway – it manages to pull tourists and locals into the same orbit. There’s a balcony overlooking the ocean, a row of TVs showing games, a pool table tucked into a far corner and a crowd that leans upscale, though in clear vacation mode. It’s a vibe, y’all.

Wednesday is arguably the move. Locals score 25% off while Game Night programming unfolds from 6 to 9 p.m. Cocktails flow, DJs rotate through the week and the menu handles both snacks and full meals with dishes spanning lobster rolls, coconut shrimp and more.

Upstairs, the revamped WET Deck remains one of the most visually impressive pool scenes on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Elevated above the Atlantic on the fifth floor, the sprawling rooftop mixes cabanas, lounge space, cocktails and ocean views with a steady soundtrack from local DJs.

And yes, STEAK 954 and El Vez still hold their own as reliable dinner plays nearby.
