Shhhh... a new speakeasy (and restaurant) are coming.

Downtown Hollywood is getting a new dinner-and-drinks destination this summer — and there’s a secret tucked behind it. BOL Hospitality Group, the South Florida team behind spots like Bae Korean Grill, The BŌL Asian Cuisine and Social Room, is preparing to debut Common Room and its hidden companion, The Brooklyn Room, at 2032 Harrison St. in Downtown Hollywood near Young Circle.

The approximately 2,000-square-foot restaurant is aiming squarely for neighborhood regular status, pairing American comfort food with a supper-club-inspired cocktail lineup. Executive chef Tanya Evans — whose résumé includes Barton G and Major Food Group — is building a menu around dishes like lobster rolls, French dip sandwiches, slow-braised short rib and Yum Yum fried chicken.

The vibe exudes polished without veering stuffy. Jewel Toned Interiors designed the dining room with brass-framed mirrors and floral accents meant to channel an old-school nostalgic feel. The restaurant itself will seat about 65 guests, with outdoor seating planned later on.

Then there’s The Brooklyn Room.

Hidden behind Common Room and accessed through the alley, the speakeasy will operate on an invitation-only basis. Cocktails will nod to iconic Brooklyn neighborhoods while DJs spin old-school hip-hop and jazz into the night. According to the group, becoming a familiar face at Common Room or any BOL Hospitality Group concept may improve your odds of getting through the door.

BOL Hospitality Group, founded in 2013 by Eric Douglas and Hai Nguyen, has continued expanding across South Florida with concepts tied heavily to nightlife, design and high-energy dining. As reported by Browardist, the company is also preparing to open pan-Asian restaurant Zhō at Dania Pointe later this year
