For many Fort Lauderdale diners, the closure of The Foxy Brown left behind cravings that couldn't easily be satisfied. The good news? Several of the restaurant's most beloved dishes have found a new home just a few blocks away at Top Hat Delicatessen

The downtown Fort Lauderdale eatery, a sister concept to the now-shuttered Foxy Brown, officially launched dinner service this week, giving longtime fans a chance to reconnect with familiar flavors. Better yet, much of the Foxy Brown team made the transition to Top Hat, including Executive Chef Christian Clausen, helping preserve the recipes and hospitality that earned the original restaurant its loyal following. 

Among the returning favorites are Foxy's Maple Bacon Wings, topped with bacon lardons, chili, maple and lime; the restaurant's famous French Onion Soup loaded with Swiss, Gruyère and provolone; and the cult-favorite Green Fries, featuring tempura-battered green beans. Diners will also find comfort-food staples such as Beef Stroganoff, Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf, Lasagna and a Short Rib & Frites entrée. 

The newly unveiled dinner menu also introduces fresh additions, including a French Dip served with a side of French onion soup for dipping, a house-smoked pastrami sandwich called The Classic, Honey Ginger Salmon and a Bone-In Pork Chop, with entrees in the $24 to $32 range. 

Top Hat has quietly built a following for breakfast and lunch since opening in Flagler Village, but the addition of dinner and happy hour expands its appeal into the evening hours. For Foxy Brown regulars still mourning the loss of one of Broward's favorite neighborhood restaurants, this may be the closest thing to a reunion dinner.

Top Hat Delicatessen is located at 415 NE 3rd St. in Fort Lauderdale. Breakfast and lunch are served daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner is available Tuesday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m., with happy hour running Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
