Talk about a sweet deal, y'all.

No tricks, all treats here, folks. Sweet Melody Ice Cream is officially opening its Fort Lauderdale shop at The Hive in Flagler Village on Wednesday, April 1. And it’s kicking things off with one of the sweetest deals we’ve seen this year: $1 scoops.
Doors open on April 1 at 4 p.m., but showing up early is the move. The first 50 people in line will score branded swag like totes and T-shirts, while everyone from 4 to 7 p.m. can dig into any flavor on the menu for just a buck. Expect a lineup of small-batch scoops that lean playful and nostalgic, with music-inspired flavors and a vibe that feels like a 1960s rec room brought to life.
The opening doesn’t stop there. Bring a vinyl record on April 1 or 2 and you’ll get a free scoop (one per person) as Sweet Melody builds out its community jukebox — a concept that doubles down on the shop’s music-forward identity. The party rolls into Friday, April 3, with an Ice Cream Social featuring a live DJ spinning vinyl, plus giveaways and more. That same day and Saturday, April 4, 10% of sales will benefit Women in Distress of Broward County.
If this all sounds familiar, it should — Browardist recently gave a first look at the shop’s arrival and vibe in Flagler Village. Now, it’s go time, and the scoop situation is looking very sweet.
